NEW AMENITIES THAT WOULD REQUIRE A MEMBERSHIP FEE
Would you pay a membership fee to use any of the following new amenities?

• Exercise Room: Yes – 196
No – 273

• Indoor Pool: Yes – 178
No – 291

• RV/Boat Parking: Yes – 81
No – 385

In analyzing the responses to this question, the number of yes or no votes is more important than the percentage of each response, because it will allow the Board to determine with such a facility could become self-supporting while maintaining a reasonable membership cost.

ALLOWING FENCES OR SHEDS
Would you vote to change the bylaws to allow all homeowners to install backyard fences or storage sheds (using approved designs)?

• Fences: Yes – 46% (224 votes)
No – 54% (268 votes)

• Sheds: Yes – 46% (226 votes)
No – 54% ( 262 votes)

In these votes, members ages 71-85 and 85+ were strongly opposed to both changes; members in all other age groups, along with owners of rental properties and lots only, were in favor of both changes.

OTHER MEMBER IDEAS & REQUESTS

The following suggestions were made by multiple members:

More evening activities. Members who are still working would like the POA to have more activities and clubs meeting at night.

New clubs: Suggestions include fishing club, garden club for men, art club, investors club, co-ed poker games. Several people would like a travel club or organized day/overnight trips.

Educational Programs: computer classes (including WIFI), art classes, presentations by experts on topics of current interest to people, discussion groups for members.

Lessons: swimming, golf, art, crafts

Services: regular trash pickup; periodic yard waste pickup; POA maintain ditches and streetside banks in front of homes.

Walk/Bike Trail: POA install walking/biking trails along the banks of the large water-runoff ditches in the community. A significant number of members mentioned the danger and difficulty of walking or bike riding in the community. A number also requested installation of sidewalks everywhere, or at least along Country Club Road.

Swimming Pool: Many people had suggestions for the pool, with the most frequently mentioned being:

- Upgrade the bathrooms and make them more easily accessible to swimmers
- Keep the pool open later at night so working people can use it (several noted that the tennis courts are available at night and used by far fewer people than would use the pool)
- Provide times for lap swimming and adults only swimming (some
suggested that the later evening hours be for adults only)
- Add a hot tub
- Open earlier in the season (perhaps April 1) and stay open into October
(to accommodate the part-time residents who often come in the spring and fall).
